This guide aims to answer a lot of questions our guests ask before they arrive and during their stay with us. Yes, there a lot to read but most is common sense and appreciation of everyone’s holiday space, with Altogold offing our little extras that could help you get more from you valuable leisure time.

As you approach Interlaken on the Motorway the signs to the right will direct you to Beatenberg, Gunten, Camping 1. Follow these signs crossing over 2 rivers and on to roundabout 3km. Continue to Gunten and Camping 1 You will Pass Golf course on the Left and Neuhaus Hotel and Motel on the left, and Alpenblick camping on the right. Immediately passed Alpenblick camping you will cross a small bridge (River Lombach) and arrive at Manor Farm. Take the next left into Manor farm (Now As you enter immediately your bare right continuing on the tarmac camp road. At the end of the toilet building keep right (do not keep left this will go into private residence). On this road, we are 20m on the left ALTOGOLD RECEPTION – look for the Swiss flag. See Map

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN – BUS – TAXI: – The SBB railways train will stop at Interlaken West Station (recommended), From here take the bus number 21 route 6 to Manor Farm (The buses will announce each stop you need to push the stop button on the buss passage way to alert the driver you wish to depart). At Manor Farm bus stop use the Crossing point to cross the road and pass between a Take a Way – Workshop (on Left) and the Restaurant Landhaus (on Right). Now bare left passing a small toilet block and continue approx. 50m to Altogold Reception on the right side.

By Taxi from Interlaken West or Ost stations to Manor farm, the taxi’s usually drop their customers by the Manor Farm camp reception (not Altogold reception which is on site 541). With you back to the camp reception and the large toilet block in front of you, walk past the large toilet block remaining on the road and walk through the camp site. We are just in front of you on the left with a Swiss flag.

Reception office hours :- See our reception notice board. If the managers are not available leave a message by reception with your requirements, they will attend to it as soon as possible. The managers are happy to assist where possible. Managers have many other duties throughout the day but can assist you.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON ARRIVAL

OUR HOMES. Detached holiday homes with min 2 Bedroom, Lounge / Living area, Toilet/Wash room, Kitchen area. For your arrival we supply free, rubbish bag in the bin supplied – 1x WC paper roll – Crockery washing up liquid to get you started. The water is main drinkable. Hot water is supplied via a gas water heater or electric heater. Electrics is 220v Max 5amps, (Additional appliances may cause the system to trip out (Over load). Use of your own equipment is restricted unless checked by the managers on location.

WE DO NOT SUPPLY Personal hygiene items such as soap – Shower soap – etc., these are personal to our guests requirements.

ARRIVAL AND SELF CHECK IN. We operate a SELF CHECK IN service. This enables you to enter your home after the allotted arrival time and start your holiday.

On arrival you will see a YELLOW arrivals board at ALTOGOLD RECEPTION; here you will find a Document with your name on. Please read as this contains IMPORTAN INFORMATION to find your holiday home. Key exchange and booking in forms are completed in the evening by our managers (Have you supplied us with all you occupants’ details before you arrived? If not, we will need them now.

BOOK IN AND COLLECT YOUR KEY. With our managers at the Altogold reception during the hours specified (See the reception notice board on your arrival). Our Managers will require Key/ Damage/ Cleaning Deposit in CASH only, in return you will receive your key, we will also supply you with any relative information and vouchers that may help you while on holiday.

KEY/ DAMAGE/ CLEANING DEPOSIT, Remember you will require £100 – 100Euro or 100 chf Cash on arrival (Card payments on location will incur additional £100 -100Euro – 100Chf non refundable administration fee added to your card payment). Your Damage / Cleaning deposit is returned when you leave your accommodation “as you found your home” clean – tidy and undamaged. Please report any damages when they happen.

HOLIDAY INFORMATION, If you are an experienced Altogold—Swiss holidays Guest or New guest to us and Switzerland. Our managers can help you along whether; you are looking for Places to visit, Travel times, and adventure or just to relax.

EXTRA INVENTORY ITEMS, The Manager carry a selection of additional and Specialist Inventory, Please ask our managers if you would like additional items (example Linen, cot, highchair) extra cost may apply.

GAS CYLINDERS REPLACEMENT, Managers are available for gas cylinder replacement when on site. Should the managers be off site please leave a message for their attention on their return. (At no stage must guests attempt tampering with any gas or gas appliances)

TRAVEL TICKETS, We can advise you on a variety of the popular travel reduction tickets.Do you have children 5-15? Then SAVE with the various Junior Cards or related cards for children that are available. Why not ask which if any may suit you?

HIRED AND PAID – The equipment will be in your home ready to install / fit.

NOT PAID – The equipment will be supplied to you at the time when you are booking in and collecting your Key.

INTERLAKEN HOSPITAL SPITÄLER FMI AG – WALK IN CLINIC

There is a walk in Clinic for everyday illness (Not Specialist). For Basic medical conditions, minor injuries, and GP concerns. A consultation at the Walk-in-Clinic is possible without prior notice and serves to quickly clarify and treat conditions or injuries that do not have to be treated in a hospital emergency. Children with minor GP problems are gladly treated and referred to specialists in the region if necessary.

FOR PATIENTS FROM ABROAD. YOU WILL NEED show your identity card, driving licence, Passport, or alien’s identity card. They will make a copy. Please show your insurance card. The European Insurance Card (EHIC) May be accepted for EU citizens – Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) May be accepted for UK citizens (Note the GHICs May only cover you in EU countries. They do not cover you in Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland). Foreign patients without a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) must pay CASH DEPOSIT IN ADVANCE normally around minimum 500Chf or more depending on the illness in Swiss francs (CHF). Check for with your government health department for the latest.

Going out for the day – Turn off all Gas and electrical appliances. Close and lock ALL windows. Check your Outside furniture’s stacked neatly and the umbrella is closed down. Now lock your Main door.

BBQs are welcome – Smoke! Please do not annoy any guests.

Swimming – Note all Lake beaches are unmanned and unattended. SWIMMING in the Lake: – Is an enjoyable past time please caution! Never go beyond your depth or capability.
Small craft/inflatables (Without a Motor) – There is a 100m restriction from the shore line.
Extra car / Trailer – booked in advance ONLY (subject to available).
Re-Charging of Cars – is prohibited from the homes.

RESTAURANTS and FOOD
LANDHAUS is on Manor Farm and offers Pizza style food with a beautiful view across the camp and lake.
TAKE A WAY (Seasonal) is situated next to the Landhaus.
Neuhaus is 300m walk in the direction of Interlaken. Offer great Swiss food on the lake edge with wonderful views across the lake and boat station.
Bistro AlpinBlick is approx. 150m walk in the direction of Interlaken to the Campsite Alpenblick. Offer Bistro food and Breakfasts for those wanting to take it easy.
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES, Two Lakeside Beaches / Swimming areas, 4 Children’s playground areas, Mini Golf, Table Tennis and sports area for Ball Games (All unattended). Fishing and Boating (always use the designated areas). Seeking an active holiday Please ask what is available.

OTHER SERVICES (UK Guests)

CROSSING the ENGLISH CHANNEL, You must arrive at least 50 minutes before your departure time at your point of departure. Remember the “Travel Operators” reserve the right to charge you for any travel different to that already booked.

CHECK LISTS, Get your essentials ready early; It is your responsibility to meet any Local / National rules and laws. All your party will need Valid Passport, Non EC passport holders may require Visas, Allow at least 6 weeks if you need to apply or replace. Holiday Currency/ Travellers Cheques, Driving you will need ALL you Vehicle documents/Insurances and Travel kits, Luminous Jackets for each person travelling, Warning triangle, 2x Personal breathalyzer Kit Bulb Kit, adjust your headlights?.

Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and up to the Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn and Brienz, Mieringen, Luzern. For direction to Brig Zermatt and Italy Change at Spiez.

Bern, and other cities Zurich, Geneva, Zermatt, Italy.

Please familiarize yourself with the means of escape in case of an emergency. Bedroom windows are specially designed to be used as an exit, and like doors, should be kept free from obstruction. If you suspect there are any problems with any electrical, gas appliances or water system, report this to your site Managers immediately.

Do not allow children to play with any appliances or on the equipment for their safety. Take particular care not to overheat cooking oil or fat or leave unattended.
